Who We Are
A Little History on Berndt's Family Farms LLC
Berndt's Family Farms is a 5th generation dairy farm located in the town of Herman, just north of Hartford, WI. The farm began in November of 1919, with Charles and Leona (Callies) Berndt. This was the beginning of "The Berndt Family Farm". The farm started with 3 milk cows which were given to Charles and Leona by Leona's father for their wedding gift.
As their family grew from one decade to the next, the farm was passed on from generation to generation.
In 2009, Keith Berndt, who was now carrying on the 3rd generation, passed away suddenly at 49 years old. The farm at this point was passed onto his wife, Doreen. Doreen, along with her 3 sons, continued to keep the farm operating, building on the family's legacy of the generations before them.
Berndt Family Farms continues to be run by the Berndt family, along with our employees. We are blessed and thankful for the many people that have been involved, or are still currently involved, in helping us to continue to operate Berndt's Family Farms LLC.
About our Ground Beef
The animals at Berndt's Family Farms LLC are well-cared for and fed a nutritionally balanced diet. They are drug and hormone free. They are happy cows!
Our ground beef is whole ground beef. What we mean by this, is that we put all the good cuts into our ground beef. The tenderloin, the roasts, the steaks, etc. It does not consist of leftover trimmings. This makes it a leaner, nicer, product.
We want our product to be both family friendly, as far as affordability, and of a very good quality for the customer.
It is also locally processed by local meat market.
